Intel Kaby Lake processor will only support Windows 10 Operating Systems.

Intel launches the first consumer product under the Optane brand: the Intel Optane Memory, a far smaller device with a price that is 20 times cheaper. Despite having "Memory" in its name, this consumer Optane Memory product is not a NVDIMM nor is it in any other way a replacement for DRAM (those products will be coming to the enterprise market next year, even though the obvious name is now taken). Optane Memory also not a suitable replacement for mainstream flash-based SSDs, because Optane Memory is only available in 16GB and 32GB capacities. Instead, Optane Memory is Intel's latest attempt at an old idea that is great in theory but has struggled to catch on in practice: SSD caching.

Microsoft Inches Toward a World Without Passwords
Microsoft on Tuesday announced the general availability of its phone sign-in for customers with Microsoft accounts -- a system that could be the beginning of the end for passwords.
The new system requires that customers add their accounts to the Microsoft Authenticator app, which comes in both iOS and Android versions, noted Alex Simons, director of program management of the Microsoft Identity Division.
After supplying a username, a member will get a mobile phone notification. Tapping "approve" on the app will authenticate the member's information.

Intel Introduces 7th-gen CPU Kaby Lake Processor for Windows 10 only. Kaby Lake is the latest generation of Cpu's from Intel following the undeniably successful Skylake generation, and so far it's been a roaring triumph. Not only does intel's Kaby lake microarchitecture power the world's thinnest convertible laptop, but reportedly even the MacBook Pro will make the switch. Some say Apple may skip over Kaby Lake altogether, but this seems unlikely when its successor Intel Cannonlake is not due to arrive until the second half of 2017; according to schedule, the 12-inch MacBook should get the Gen 7 treatment this spring.

Intel also introduces Optane, a memory technology that brings hard drive speeds up to par with that of SSDs.

Millions of people are still running Windows XP. Microsoft ended support for Windows XP two years ago. What people don't seem to understand that end of support means "zero-days forever" because those vulnerabilities will never be patched - and XP computers are sitting ducks for cybercriminals to attack. And yet there are still millions of XP computers connecting to the internet, where all manner of malware is waiting to pounce. By the way, there are some MAC OS X users who are using out-of-support versions, too, meaning they are also vulnerable to never-going-to-be-fixed security holes.
